During Summer 1992, the Northeast Parallel Architectures Center (NPAC) at Syracuse University conducted a 10-week Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program in High-Performance Computing. Fifteen "Research Apprentices" took part in the program. Academic majors of 1992 REU Research Apprentices included computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics, and economics.

The NPAC REU program has two main components: intensive training in high-performance computing, and an individual research project conducted under the supervision of members of the NPAC reseach staff and Syracuse University faculty.

Abstracts and papers for all 1992 NPAC REU projects are available for immediate retrieval.

Funding for the 1992 NPAC REU program was provided by the National Science Foundation (Grant CDA-9200577), the GE Foundation Faculty for the Future Program, Syracuse University academic offices (Vice President of Research & Computing, Dean of College of Arts & Science, Dean of College of Engineering and Computer Science, Dean of Graduate School), and the Northeast Parallel Architectures Center at Syracuse University.
