The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) is a 10 week summer program at the Northeast Parallel Architectures Center (NPAC) at Syracuse University, which provides the opportunity for undergraduates to use High Performance Computing and Communications in independent research projects, supervised by NPAC research scientists and Syracuse University faculty. The 1994 program runs from June 6 to August 13.
The program also includes a week of intensive training in parallel computing and multimedia communication, with both lectures and hands-on lab sessions.
A total of 15 students were accepted for the 1994 program. Twelve of the students are funded through the National Science Foundation, two of them through the General Electric Foundation, and one is independently funded.
