During Summer 1995, the Northeast Parallel Architectures Center (NPAC) at Syracuse University conducted a 10-week Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program in High-Performance Computing and Communications. Fifteen "Research Apprentices" took part in the program. Academic majors of 1995 REU Research Apprentices included computer science, mathematics, computer engineering, economics, political science and journalism.

The NPAC REU program has two main components: intensive training in high-performance computing and communications, and an individual research project conducted under the supervision of members of the NPAC research staff and Syracuse University faculty.

Abstracts and papers for all 1995 NPAC REU projects are available for immediate retrieval.

The NPAC REU Program is funded by the National Science Foundation under an REU Site award (NSF Grant CDA-9424332), with additional support provided by Syracuse University and NPAC. Additional funding for the 1995 program was provided by the Ultra Corporation and the City University of New York City College.
