About This Year's Program
The 1997 program will be unique since this is the last year NPAC will host REU. Primary funding for REU comes from the National Science Foundation. A decision was made not to apply for the NSF grant for Summer 1998. So, after 6 great years, REU will cease.

The projects that students will be working on include the following:

  • A Three-Dimensional Application of the DAGH System
  • Software Visualization as an Educational Tool
  • Networking Technologies Tutorial: NPAC's Networking Infrastructure
  • Visualization of US Internet Communication
  • Expanding Interface Hardware for Improved Human-Computer Interaction
  • Software Visualization -- An Animation of the Common Gateway Interface (CGI)
  • Application Development for Tango
  • Java for High School Students
  • Expressional Interfaces
